TDXCollab docs
TDXCollab lets several people work in one TouchDesigner project at the same time, each in their own TouchDesigner. Everything anyone does inside a shared COMP, the Collab Zone, is mirrored for everyone else: over the internet through a relay, or directly on one network.
TDXCollab is in a private beta: request an invite to get it.
Start here
- Quick start: two TouchDesigners connected with the Set Up window in a few minutes.
- Sessions and roles: hosting, letting people in, what each role may do, the menu bar chip and the TDXCollab window.
- Working together: what is mirrored, following each other around, cursors, Ping and Summon.
Going further
- The Collab Zone: sending and restoring whole zones, snapshots, and what happens when your copies differ.
- Keep Local and local tools: what each side keeps for itself, what always
syncs, what the drift check leaves out, and tools you tag
TDXCollab:ignore(or your own Ignore Tags) to keep to yourself. - Classroom: one teacher, a class of observers.
- Remote installation: hosting from a machine nobody sits at.
- Diagnostics and reports: what TDXCollab sends us during the beta, and what it never sends.
Reference
- Parameters: every parameter of the TDXCollab COMP, page by page.
- Known issues: what does not sync, what is not tested yet, and what to do when something is off.
Before your first session
Anyone you let in with Full Edit can change anything in the Collab Zone, Python in DATs and expressions included, and that Python runs in your TouchDesigner. Work with people you trust, save before a session, and read the security page for how each way of connecting is protected.
